A WARM WELCOME
Building a Learning Foundation for Your Child
Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool welcomes students from all racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. We work to cultivate the individuality of each child and to encourage independence and creativity through our developmentally appropriate and play-based curriculum.
Our program is offered from 9:00 AM - Noon for children who are 2-1/2 through 5 years old (Pre-K). We are opening for in-person learning for this 21-22 preschool year.
A message from our Director
With 60 years of experience serving the Vienna/Oakton area, we hope you will find Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool to be your child’s home away from home. We offer a curriculum your child needs to build a foundation of learning and interpersonal skills for their future. Please reach out to me to book a tour or to help answer any questions you may have. We look forward to meeting you and your little ones!
Jenny Reinhart, Preschool Director
EXPERIENCE THE DIFFERENCE
With teacher-moderated activity and learning centers, your child will be encouraged to experiment and explore with others. Through play, children learn to take turns, delay gratification, negotiate conflicts, solve problems, and acquire flexibility.
Many of our staff have been with us for over 10 years. To ensure the safety and security of your child, all staff employment files include completed background checks, fingerprinting, TB screening and all paperwork required by the state. They are also required to complete 16 hours of continuing education classes each year.
The preschool is an outreach ministry of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where children learn to love God, love learning, and love all others. Our chapel program takes place on most Wednesdays, led by church staff. Families are always welcome to attend.
Hear from our Parents!
As a former teacher, I was really hoping to have a play-based preschool that was more focused on children learning how to be students, how to socialize, and how to be more independent than a school focused on numbers and letters. Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool was the best option for our family.
Now that the twins have spent two years there, we are thrilled for our third child to also attend this Fall. ELP provides a safe and loving environment. Teachers listen to concerns you may have and schedule time to meet with you when needed. My children have flourished while at preschool. All of the staff and teachers are welcoming and caring. We are very happy with our choice!
Mother of twins
It was very important for me as a mother to find a nurturing and safe environment that would foster a love for school and learning. My kids LOVE going to school, and it's thanks to the caring and dedicated staff at Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool.
I've had two children spend three years at Emmanuel Lutheran Preschool. All of the teachers have been excellent, the administrators are very friendly and supportive, and the specials (Creative Movement is a favorite) are great! What particularly drew me to ELP is a warm and homey "vibe" that I felt as early as the day we came for a tour and the program director took my daughter's hand.
Both of my kids have really learned a lot, especially interacting with other kids, and I think Emmanuel Lutheran does a great job of preparing kids for kindergarten, particularly from a social standpoint. I am so happy we chose Emmanuel Lutheran over other local preschools we looked at.
