"Whereas our country once again finds itself in a state of unrest over racial tensions, be it resolved that the congregation council on behalf of Emmanuel Lutheran Church affirms its support of the ELCA social statement 'Condemnation of White Supremacy and Racist Rhetoric' adopted by the 2019 ELCA Churchwide Assembly, and calls upon the congregation to stand with the ELCA to reaffirm their commitment to repenting of the sins of racism and dismantling white supremacy that continue to plague us by marking the day of June 17th as a day of penitence with study and prayer leading to action."
