Hypothermia Week Returns to Emmanuel in January 2022!
You may have been wondering what the program will look like this year after guests were housed at a central location last year with Emmanuel only providing dinners & snacks during “our week”. This year, we will host unsheltered singles at Emmanuel with Covid-19 precautions in place. A major change will be that FACETS will provide all of the overnight staffing and transportation. We will provide and serve breakfast, bag lunches and dinner each day along with hospitality during the late afternoon and evening hours.
You can help by donating food and non-food items, volunteering to greet guests and provide friendly conversation, help sanitize sleeping mats, lead a Bible study or help prepare and serve a meal. A SignUpGenius and “The Wall” will be available starting Nov 22 with the specifics of what items are needed and what volunteer positions need to be filled.
Learn about the history of this program, why Emmanuel is involved, and the responsibilities of the various volunteer positions at the Adult Forum on Dec 12 at 10:15 a.m. The Hypothermia Team leaders are Paula McGinnis, Deb Gugel, David Tyson & Jane Holtorf all of whom are available to answer questions.
