At Emmanuel, you’ll find age-appropriate Christian education during our Faith Formation hour, as well as many opportunities for your children to grow in faith and service at Emmanuel.
Dedicated and vetted volunteers—educators and inspirational professionals among them—help your children have lots of fun on their faith journeys in our safe, caring community. Your elementary-aged children have a home—and a role—at Emmanuel.
Weekly Faith Formation
If you’re looking for the right balance of hands-on learning, discussion, and purposeful play as your children grow in Christ, Emmanuel is the place for them.
All faith formation during our program year (Fall to Spring) is on Sundays at 10:00 AM. Please check the main page for schedule updates. Parents are also welcome to attend our active Parents group that usually meets in the library.
All PreK- 5th graders are welcome to participate in faith formation lessons.
Confirmation classes begin in 6th grade and conclude on Reformation Sunday of 10th grade.
In 10th grade, youth are invited to participate in youth group.
Each class works toward an age-appropriate milestone throughout the year, which encourages parents or guardians and children to spend time together growing in faith.
Faith Formation Milestones
Your children—and you—can participate in activities throughout the year.
Children Three and Four Years Old – Prayer and devotions are the focus for this age group, and everyone gets a take-home bag!
2nd Grade and up – The pastors lead Holy Communion instruction classes throughout February for parents/guardians and their children, celebrating Holy Communion on Transfiguration Sunday.
6th to 9th Grade – Parents are invited to join in the Confirmation classes with their teen every week in the fellowship hall.
10th Grade – Youth affirm their baptisms (confirmation) on Reformation Sunday in October of their 10th grade year.
High School – Blessing of graduates during worship as they graduate.
Cross-Generational – Backpack blessings before school begins.
Involved in God's work
We encourage your child to participate alongside you as we praise God in worship and serve others. You’ll see children of all ages in many of our activities. We also plan special activities just for children to support their attention span and skills.
Opportunities for Older Kids and Youth
Confirmation classes provide a space for children in 6th–9th grade to ask deep questions, struggle with their faith, and build relationships with other youth going through the same life events.
All high school students are invited to youth group Sundays at 10:00 AM.
