KNOWN. NOTICED. LOVED.
Youth Connections During COVID-19
All youth in 6th - 12th grade are invited to meet on Sunday mornings at 4:00 PM for games, laughs, faith discussions and community. Sometimes we meet online and sometimes we meet in person at Nottaway Park. Zoom links are not published to ensure the safety of our children and youth.
Contact Christian Marbach, Director of Youth Ministries, if you would like to receive the weekly details or are interested in any upcoming opportunities.
MOnth of Mission
All youth, 6th grade through seniors in high school, are invited to participate in four different mission opportunities throughout the summer:
Vacation Bible School | June 21-25, 2021
This is an awesome opportunity for middle and high school youth to take on leadership roles throughout the VBS week at Emmanuel. Roles include leading activities and crafts, group assistants, behind the scenes support, setup/takedown and much more.
Mar-Lu-Ridge Camp Week | June 27 - July 1, 2021
Participate in various camp activities at Mar-Lu-Ridge retreat center including high and low ropes challenge courses. Registration through Mar-Lu-Ridge will be available soon!
Hungry Mother Retreat Weekend | July 15 - 18, 2021
We will be renting the entire property to host two simultaneous retreats, one for Middle School and one for High School. Playing games and challenges, we will focus on building community and further develop our relationships with each other and with Christ.
Rainbow Trail MOuntain Week | July 18 - 24, 2021
Four days of hiking, camping and experiencing God in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. We will be a charter of up to 13 people from Emmanuel with two guides provided for us by Rainbow Trail. This is an opportunity to get away from technology and to just be. We will also enjoy bible study, time for reflection and finish the trip with whitewater rafting (dependent on COVID-19 restrictions).
You belong here
Building a faith community shouldn’t end once you are confirmed. This is a life long journey of questioning, doubting, believing and serving. We believe it is important to provide today’s youth with a safe space to de-stress, wrestle with their faith and build an affirming community with others.
What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is an opportunity for people to affirm for themselves the promises that their parents, sponsors and congregation made for them at their baptism.
If you have not been confirmed or baptized and are older than 9th grade, please contact us and we can figure out together what this journey looks like for you! All of God’s children are welcome to participate in the sacrament of Baptism.
Confirmation at Emmanuel
6th to 9th graders and their parents or guardians are invited to participate in weekly Confirmation classes online at 10:15 AM on Sunday mornings. Confirmation takes place every year on Reformation Sunday in late October.
